This Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020, when the doors of countless churches will be cautiously closed, join people of faith, and fans of great music, mystical stories, and family friendly entertainment in an international, virtual, celebration by watching the star-studded Gospel musical film, Rivival!

REVIVAL! is a thoroughly innovative celebration of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ through faith, film and theatre. An imaginative retelling of the poetic Book of John, Revival! is a letter from Jesus to a troubled and ever contemporary world. Our journey begins with a live Passion Play in a contemporary metropolis, and expands from there into a world of vibrant image and immersive sound. Revival! is an authentic expression of Black Faith in form and intention. It is also a unique way to re-imagine a renewal of the everlasting and joyous creative spirit of the black church experience! We all know this story, but we've never seen it, heard it or felt it like this. The all-star cast includes 10-time Grammy winner Chaka Khan, Michelle Williams, Siedah Garrett, Mali Music, T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh, Dawnn Lewis, Niki J. Crawford, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Paula  Newsome, Victoria Tilford, Harry Lennix, Seidah Garrett, Kenny Lattimore, and Chester Gregory.  The film was directed by Danny Green. Original music score and arrangements are by Mali Music, ELEW, Donald Lawrence and Abdul Robinson Royal.  Lennix, Holly Carter and David C. Waite produced the film through Merge-XJR: Exponent, Jupiter Film Group and Relevé Entertainment. As we approach the 55th anniversary of the Selma march, I'm excited to be directing a theatre piece that sheds light of one of the small communities that supported the civil rights movement, and the women there, who turned scraps of worn fabric into treasured art. Characters:Sadie Understudy (Black female, age 15, 41, and 78  - Alice's daughter; a reader; adventurous, yet traditional; bold; spiritual, she dreams)
Nella Understudy (Black female, age 17, 44, and 81 - Alice's daughter; a singer; sensible until she isn't/ can't be, mischievous; supportive)
Macon Understudy (Black male, age 25 & 51 - Sadie's beau/husband; a field worker; strong; ambitious; clever; traditional; can be harsh)
Ensemble Members (Black males age 25-75; and Black females who sing, age 25-75+).
