Performer, writer, director, producer and educator T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh (In Living Color / Cosby / That's So Raven / The Cool Crystal Show)) provides an interactive introduction to the actor training method of actor/director/acting teacher Michael Chekhov.  The workshop will include a review and continuation of the techniques covered in the Intro to Chekhov workshop I presented in Los Angeles last year: Radiating and Receiving, Expansion and Contraction, Qualities of Movement, The Four Brothers, The Sensations, and Psychological Gestures.  Terms will be clarified and again, there will be group, partnered and individual exercises; a talk back; and a Q&A.    Participants should have 4 lines of memorized text to incorporate into the work.  In-person slots are very limited.  COVID protocols will be strictly enforced.  Masks must be worn at all times.  Virtual participants may work with one partner and must be on camera at all times.

NOTE: Participation in the Tools of the Trade Intro to Chekhov I is NOT required.
In-Person Participants: A very limited number of participants will be working live with me at a studio in downtown Little Rock, AR, and in front of the virtual participants. All COVID protocols will be strictly enforced.  Masks must be worn at all times.   All attendees must be registered. Check-in will be at 6:30pm.  The exact location in downtown Little Rock will be given to registered in-person students.

Virtual Participants:  This workshop is for active participants.  Your camera must be on at all times. Taking the class with a maximum of one partner is advised but not required.  The workshop will be monitored.  If more than two people are seen on your camera, you are subject to removal from the workshop.  Choose a space with room to move around.  One of our exercises is a ball toss.  You can use a tennis ball to participate with your partner, or you may use a pretend ball.  The Zoom information will be given to registered virtual students. The name under which you registered must match the name on your Zoom profile to be admitted into the class.

All Participants:  You must be 18 years of age or older and registered to attend. Wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement.  Have 4 lines of text from a play or film memorized to incorporate into the work.  No explicit language or vulgarity. The workshop will be recorded. No identifiable footage or images of students will be shared in any medium without the student's written permission. You may not record the workshop in any way.  A limited number of people will be able to make comments about the experience in the spy back and / or to ask questions during the Q&A, if time permits.

Observers: No observers will be allowed.
